Out with the Old — Transiting Chart!

HELLO, BEAUTIFUL ANGELS.

.ೃ࿐

I am here to sprinkle some fairy dust over your consciousness, and the creative experiment that is your Human Being! I sat down at my computer, and — for the first time in a while, decided to pull the chart! I had no idea that I was about to stumble upon astrological gold.

KEY FOCI:

  • Sun and Venus both conjunct at 14°27’ of Gemini (exact) aka — Venus Cazimi

  • Jupiter and Mercury conjunct at 2°15’ & 2°35’ of Gemini (exact)

☄. *. ⋆VENUS conjunct the SUN ☄. *. ⋆

This “Cazimi” (when the Sun and another planet meet at the same degree — in this case, Venus and the Sun) is actually part of a larger 8 year cycle. This significance is called the “Venus Star Point”. This transition marks the shift of Venus as a morning star to an evening star (because Venus orbits around the sun in the opposite direction of the Earth) in a “superior conjunction”. Astrologically speaking, this positions Venus over more diplomatic, elevated, airy matters, instead of her rigid and more Earth-bound embodiment as a morning star. Think taking the higher ground, and positively engaging with human evolution, with ease.

According to astrologer Arielle Guttman, this Cazimi happens 5 times every 8 years, marking significant transitional sequences of our lives. “When these transits occur throughout the years, they activate five points in the sky that create an energetically charged pentagram shape known as the Venus Star Point.” (People Magazine)

When a planet meets the Sun, I think that the energies of that planet experience a cosmic climax in some way. And as it waxes and wanes to and away from the Sun, the quality of that Sun’s energy is left in our interpretation of that planet. It’s very hard to not recognize the Sun’s influence on planets 1-5° away from the Sun (called being combust).

This Venus Cazimi is happening in Gemini, meaning it’s bound up in the mutable sign ruled by Mercury! This makes topics of our smaller networks, friends and alliances, our learning, school, and communicative abilities highlighted. We look to Mercury (who rules over this particular significance) to see how his rulership over this dynamic will color the potency and potentiality of the astrology. Low and behold — Mercury is doing something incredible with Jupiter right now… They’re bound up in conjunction! Ideas are plentiful and abundant! There’s an abundance of information (and maybe you’re realizing how this is actually detrimental)!

☄.*.⋆MERCURY conjunct JUPITER, ☄. *. ⋆
(trine PLUTO)

This is the perfect time for a lobotomy.

Ahhh… Just what you needed — a nice cold icepick to the brain...

Ok but seriously, this transit is a reminder that you are not a static entity, and that there is a lot of work still to be done in your development.

Depending on how this transit is lighting up your natal chart, you’re likely becoming more conscious of the subconscious mind, your hidden fears, and all the extra noise that has been buzzing in your life (or a particular area of life).

But this conjunction is particularly special because Jupiter and Mercury are actually diametric opposites. Jupiter rules over everything BIG; big ideas, big plates, big appetites, parties, dreams, fears, etc… It rules over our basic urge to EXPAND. And Mercury is the ruler of the particulate; the details, the minutia, the small stuff of our material and energetic world. So when these two planets align, there’s a battle between the broad angle and tight lens. Unlike the opposition, however, a conjunction synthesizes these planetary energies into a singular experience.

_____

A conjunction between Mercury and Jupiter happens roughly every 120 days, due to Mercury’s wacky orbit across the ecliptic.

With this transit happening in Gemini, we’re in Temple of Mercury, Mercury is lending itself more to the effects of Jupiter by ruling over it. This means that perhaps you’re finally getting the opportunity to make your voice heard in a new way, or can finally see all the little details of your mind made clear on a big map! This also means things are moving much faster than you’ve probably felt in a while (depending on what house this is in for you).

You may not have time to really lean into all the details right now because the picture is flashing by quickly. Depending on what house you have Gemini in, you will start to really feel these granules of information creating a larger picture!

But what about Pluto?

(This Pluto trine to Jupiter in Aquarius and Gemini

hasn’t happened for about 350 years!)

THIS IS A RARE EVENT.

To read more about this, I highly recommend Cosmic Cannibal’s article about this event! She describes Pluto as the planet of hidden riches & resources. She says it’s Pluto’s duty is to help you “exhume” these parts of yourself to activate greater transformation, and evolution. So when Pluto is activated by another planet through transit (or activates one of your own natal placements), it’s an opportunity or challenge to uncover your hidden resources, and do something with them!

But blah blah blah, there’s way too much to cover here (Jupiter conjunct Mercury) — so how should we simplify this?

This is a perfect example of the current energy! With my rekindled love for something that absolutely feeds me (Venus Cazimi happening in my Ninth house of Gemini), which is writing and studying philosophy, astrology, and naturalism… I have to figure out what details are most important to include. It’s like sifting for gold — there’s that Pluto influence. I’m also learning to hear my own voice, and to recognize the influence I have in this field as a writer, student, and educator.

What Whole Sign house is Gemini in your natal chart?

Here are some activities to
help you navigate the BUZZ:

  1. Turn everything off.
Stop streaming TV shows while doing the dishes — just let the sounds of your physical environment guide you. Be one with the present.

  2. Lighten your Intake.
Don’t overdo it right now. Choose lighter foods, and in smaller portions.
Give your body a chance to realign with this energy.

  3. Exercise old Thoughts.
Solve some stagnant problems, or finally make that podcast episode! Do something that engages and stimulates your mind through memory.
Limit your intake of new information.

To best work with this energy, start whittling away at the excess of things that you don’t need; Clarify and purify. Speak kindly to the wind. Wash away your worries, and trust in the promise of a new beginning.

Love, Eva.
